This paper aims to explore the impact of the digital economy on high-quality economic development, particularly the roles of digital infrastructure, digital industries, and digital integration in promoting regional total factor productivity (TFP). Within the framework of the relationship between the digital economy and high-quality economic development, this study constructs an econometric model that incorporates mediating effects to verify whether technological progress acts as a bridge between the digital economy and high-quality economic development. By collecting panel data from 30 provinces and cities in China from 2017 to 2021, we measure the digital economy development index and link it to regional TFP.
